LLR Care Record Delivers Benefits Roadshow

The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) Care Record has been on tour in community hospitals across the area, spreading the message to staff about all the benefits of using the shared care record, powered by Interweave.

Gemma Stevens, Project Management Office Administrator at the LLR Care Record, has been out and about at three Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) hospitals in the region to explain to colleagues about using the platform and to answer any questions they might have.

Gemma started her roadshow at Coalville Community Hospital before heading to Loughborough Hospital and most recently, Hinckley and Bosworth Community Hospital, encouraging staff members to feedback on how they use the care record, and how it could be further developed to support them more.

Gemma said: “I’ve enjoyed all the visits and everyone at the hospitals has been very welcoming and keen to know more about using the shared care record.

“During the visits I’ve been able to begin access requests and the training process for staff groups and assist staff with password resets. I’ve carried out demonstrations, answered a range of questions and placed promotional items such as posters and leaflets on the wards in order to increase visibility and awareness of the LLR Care Record.

“During one visit, I identified an entire ward where doctors and allied health professionals currently lacked access to the shared care record, so I was able to rectify that. I’ve also been able to highlight information that is helpful to community nursing and ward staff, such as the Medequip equipment people have at home.”

Holly Wiles, Business Assistant with the Charnwood community mental health team at Loughborough Hospital, said: “I really think it makes such a good difference to have a physical presence of staff coming in to help. Gemma’s role is vital for improving staff confidence with new programmes like the shared care record.”

More than 21,000 staff in LLR health and care providers and East Midlands Ambulance Service have access to the LLR Care Record for direct patient care. It has been rolled out across adult social care in Leicester City Council, Leicestershire County Council and Rutland County Council, LOROS and Rainbows, and rollout is progressing in Leicestershire Partnership Trust, University Hospitals of Leicester, Patient Care Locally CIC, the Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit, GP practices, local authority children’s services and community pharmacies, with further organisations joining soon.
