Record Monthly Users of the Shared Care Record in South Yorkshire
A new landmark has been achieved for the Yorkshire and Humber Care Record (YHCR) in South Yorkshire – with the biggest ever monthly total of records being accessed.
In July 2026, 31,772 records were accessed – the first time the South Yorkshire Shared Care Record (SYSCR) programme has broken through the 30,000 landmark.
There were particularly high levels of access to the shared care record platform within Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The number of records being accessed for July was a 17 per cent increase on the figure for the previous month.
Katie Dowson, South Yorkshire Shared Care Record (SYSCR) Programme Director, said: “The continual increase in the numbers of health and care staff accessing the YHCR is pleasing and demonstrates how more and more individuals and teams are realising the benefits of being able to view a more detailed picture of the person they are caring for. We are keen to see this positive trend continue, with greater utilisation of the YHCR helping to underpin the delivery of high-quality, integrated care across South Yorkshire.”
The YHCR gives health and care professionals directly involved in an individual’s care a more complete view of the care and treatment that an individual has received across all services. The shared care record platform securely connects information from hospitals, GPs, mental health services and social care providers, ensuring professionals have the most up-to-date information when they need it.
