Move Towards Just One Shared Care Record for South Yorkshire

In a move to establish one shared care record platform for all of South Yorkshire, the Rotherham Health Record (RHR) is due to be phased out this summer (2026).

This follows the closing down of the Integrated Doncaster Care Record (IDCR) last March. In their place, the Yorkshire and Humber Care Record (YHCR) is now firmly established. Powered by Interweave, the YHCR will now be linking up health and social care records for patients across the whole region.

Work is underway to move all existing RHR users over to the YHCR by the end of February 2026. There will be an interim period between February and July 2026 when access to the RHR will be maintained to ensure access to all data currently available in the RHR. Once all data feeds are complete in the YHCR, access to the RHR is due to be removed at the end of July 2026. From March 2026 onwards, GP information will no longer be available in the RHR and must be accessed via the YHCR.

The dual running of both the RHR and YHCR to end July 2026 will allow access to be created to the last few data sets that are currently only viewable in the RHR – including some personal demographic data, inpatient medication and additional documents.

The move to a single platform is set to bring significant benefits. Users can access information from health and care organisations across Yorkshire and Humber in the YHCR. It will also save on duplication of resources, spending money on different systems attempting to do the same thing. This will free up resource to make the YHCR as useful, relevant and comprehensive as possible to all the local system partners.
