More Staff Are Now Logging Into the LLR Care Record

Our partner, Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) are seeing an ever-increasing number of health and care staff are using the LLR Care Record to support the care of local people.

A total of 20,000 staff in LLR health and care providers and East Midlands Ambulance Service now have access to the LLR Care Record for direct patient care. It has been rolled out across adult social care in Leicester City Council, Leicestershire County Council and Rutland County Council, and rollout is progressing in Leicestershire Partnership Trust, University Hospitals of Leicester, Patient Care Locally CIC, GP practices (Forest House, Ibstock, Inclusion Healthcare and Assist), LOROS hospice and community pharmacies.

Each month, the number of LLR Care Record users is increasing, with more than 6,000 staff logins taking place monthly, accessing the records of more than 3,500 people. Staff report that having improved access to people’s health and care records is helping them save time and deliver better, safer care.

The LLR Care Record is joining up people’s health and care records across the NHS and local authorities. It means information recorded about someone’s health and care such as illnesses, medications and hospital admissions can be accessed by different people who are directly involved in their care. Hospitals, GPs and other health and care workers have always tended to have separate records – the LLR Care Record allows the data from these to be seen in one place.

Laura Godtschalk, LLR Care Record programme lead, said: “We are pleased to see the continual growth in the number of staff using the LLR Care Record to deliver direct person-centred care. Users and usage are increasing month-on-month as word gets around about the benefits of using the LLR Care Record.
