More Information Available Than Ever in the LLR Care Record
Accessing the wealth of information provided by Interweave means there is now more data than ever available in the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) Care Record. Programme Leads are encouraging all health and care staff to login into the shared care record to see the wide reaching information now available.
The most comprehensive picture ever of local people’s health and care has been established in the LLR Care Record by joining up individuals’ separate records from different organisations.
Laura Godtschalk, LLR Care Record Programme Lead, said: “Every month we are getting more than 12,000 views of records in the Care Record. Some members of staff are logging in frequently and realising all the benefits of being able to see a more holistic view of the person they are caring for. But some members of staff may never have logged in, while some staff may perhaps have logged in once and then for some reason not accessed the Care Record again.
“What we’re saying to individuals and teams across health and social care is that there is more information in there than when we started and we are continuously adding new datasets. This is now an amazing resource which will help speed up care, provide more appropriate and safer care, and result in better outcomes for the person they are looking after.”
The LLR Care Record joins up people’s health and care records across the NHS and local authorities. It means information recorded about someone’s health and care such as illnesses, medications and hospital admissions can be accessed by different people who are directly involved in their care. Hospitals, GPs and other health and care workers have always tended to have separate records – the LLR Care Record allows the data from these to be seen in one place.
More than 21,000 staff in LLR health and care providers and East Midlands Ambulance Service have access to the LLR Care Record for direct patient care. It has been rolled out across adult social care in Leicester City Council, Leicestershire County Council and Rutland County Council, and rollout is progressing in Leicestershire Partnership Trust, University Hospitals of Leicester, Patient Care Locally CIC, GP practices, LOROS and Rainbow hospices, and community pharmacies, with further organisations joining soon.
