LLR Care Record Reducing Assessment Times and Improving Outcomes
Powered by Interweave, usage of the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) Care Record is becoming more embedded in everyday practice among staff at Leicestershire County Council according to a new annual survey.
Among colleagues within adult social care and mental health in the local authority, 60 per cent of survey respondents said they were using the shared care record digital platform every other day or more, and 20 per cent of people were using it more than once each day.
Compared to the original survey (September 2024), there has been an increase in frequency of use, with many stating that the removal of access would now negatively impact on their work. Staff placed particularly strong value on being able to access data from GP practices, Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust and University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
One of the most significant findings related to time savings being achieved, with an average of 37 minutes per login, compared to 30 minutes previously. This was due to not having to source the information through other means, such as calling the GP practice.
As a result of using the LLR Care Record, the survey found three in five users reporting an improved working day and about half of respondents believing they were delivering better outcomes for the people they support.
Sandra Taylor, LLR Care Record Programme Manager, said: “We were really pleased with the survey findings and would like to thank everyone who took the time to let us know of their experience. It’s great to hear how positively it is being received and also valuable to know what additional functionality would be useful in the future.
“We had feedback that the LLR Care Record had helped reduce some assessment times by a few weeks, had helped reduce the time that some cases remained open, and that it was enabling quicker recommendations and outcomes. If any colleagues across LLR would like refresher training or training for the first time on using the LLR Care Record, please do get in touch.”
