Landmark for the LLR Care Record

In a quarter-of-a-million landmark, the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) Care Record has now achieved a total of 250,000 care records accessed. These relate to the records of 91,000 different people since the LLR Care Record was launched.

Sandra Taylor, LLR Care Record Programme Manager, said: “These figures show use of the LLR Care Record continues to grow. We also know that during summer when staffing levels can be lower, it’s sometimes harder to get through to other services. This is a great time therefore to refresh your knowledge on using the LLR Care Record to access care information directly and keep services moving.”

More than 21,500 staff in LLR health and care providers and East Midlands Ambulance Service have access to the LLR Care Record for direct patient care. It has been rolled out across University Hospitals of Leicester, Leicestershire Partnership Trust, adult and children’s social care in Leicester City Council, Leicestershire County Council and Rutland County Council, and LOROS and Rainbows hospices, and rollout is progressing in GP practices, community pharmacies, and Patient Care Locally CIC, with further organisations joining soon.

Powered by Interweave, the LLR Care Record is joining up people’s health and care records across the NHS and local authorities. It means information recorded about someone’s health and care such as illnesses, medications and hospital admissions can be accessed by different people who are directly involved in their care. Hospitals, GPs and other health and care workers have always tended to have separate records – the LLR Care Record allows the data from these to be seen in one place.
